The Finance Department is seeking high energy individuals to work in an auxiliary capacity during tax season. The ideal candidate will have the knowledge, skills, and ability to assist in the day-to-day processing of property tax and utility collections.

The incumbent will perform duties including, but not limited to:

  • Processing payments
  • Providing information concerning by-laws and departmental rules and regulations to the public
  • Maintaining standard office records
  • Receiving and checking a variety of material for arithmetical accuracy and completeness
  • Operating a variety of common office appliances
  • Perform related work as required


Qualifications include completion of Grade 12, preferably supplemented by or including standard commercial courses, and some experience in general office and clerical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The incumbent will have sound knowledge of business English and arithmetic, modern office practices and procedures, and filing and indexing methods and recordkeeping. The Clerk 2 (Tax) will also possess the ability to learn assigned clerical tasks readily, to adhere to prescribed routines, and to develop some skill in the operation of common office appliances. This position requires you to have the ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with the public and other employees and to make minor decisions in accordance with laws and regulations and departmental policies and procedures. A Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia may be required for some positions.

Pay Rate: $27.30 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits.

Location: City Hall

Hours of Work: Hours and shifts are dependent on operational requirements and are scheduled by the department on an as needed basis. Our requirement will be for the incumbent to have availability to work Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM on an approximate six week assignment between June - July 2024.
